Helen Mirren leva o Tony por papel de rainha Elizabeth 2ª no teatro

SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - A atriz Helen Mirren, vencedora do Oscar de melhor atriz em 2007 por "A Rainha", levou mais uma estatueta pelo papel da rainha Elizabeth 2ª. Desta vez, o Tony, pela peça "The Audience", sobre as reuniões semanais da rainha com seus primeiros ministros.
"Sua majestade, você conseguiu de novo", disse a atriz, ao receber o prêmio. Considerado o Oscar do teatro americano, o Tony revelou na noite deste domingo (7) os vencedores em 26 considerando os votos de 800 jurados da indústria e da imprensa do espetáculo.
A cerimônia foi apresentada pela atriz Kristin Chenoweth -ndicada a melhor atriz em musical por "On the Twentieth Century"- e por Alan Cumming.
A edição de 2015 do Tony se destacou pela presença de astros do cinema e da TV disputando as categorias de atuação. Elizabeth Moss, a Peggy de "Mad Men", disputou com Mirren o troféu de melhor atriz em peça de teatro por "The Heidi Chronicles". Bradley Cooper estava no páreo de melhor ator pelo musical "The Elephant Man".
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night-Time" venceu o troféu de melhor peça de teatro, direção e cenário. Também rendeu o prêmio de melhor ator a Alex Sharp.
Um dos principais concorrentes -e vencedores- foi o musical "Fun Home", adaptação do quadrinho biográfico de Alison Bechdel sobre a vida em família e a descoberta da própria sexualidade. Além da estatueta de melhor musical, a peça também levou como melhor livro de musical, melhor trilha original, melhor direção e melhor ator em musical.
O prêmio de melhor atriz em musical ficou com Kelli O'Hara, por "The King and I".
